That Colombia May Know

Testimony
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and got saved at the age of four. Through a devotional story my mother was reading to me, I realized my need for salvation and trusted Christ as my personal Savior. God began giving me a passion for children’s ministries when I helped start a neighborhood Bible club. Later, I joined Treasure Valley Baptist Church and eagerly began serving in the bus ministry and teaching Sunday school. While busy raising sheep and serving in my local church, God redirected my life during a missions conference. Through a message on the man at the pool of Bethesda who needed physical healing, my Shepherd called me to follow Him as a missionary and take the Gospel to people needing spiritual healing.
God used a mission trip to the Amazon and Colombia to specifically direct me to Colombia, a country in desperate need of spiritual healing through Jesus Christ. Because of its long history of violence and crime, Colombia is a place that brings fear to many. As a result, it remains one of the most unreached countries in South America.
From my first glimpse of Colombia, God began working in my heart and giving me a love and burden for these people. I remember looking out over the city, pondering the souls who live there, while the missionaries shared about the lack of gospel witness throughout the nation. By the time I returned to the States, God had planted Colombia in my heart, and through a series of events and verses, the Lord confirmed He was calling me to follow Him to this forgotten land.
I enrolled in Bible Institute to prepare for ministry and began teaching at my church’s Christian school. During this time, I spent my summers in Colombia helping Peter and Elisabeth Putney, the missionaries with whom I will be serving when I return to Colombia. While there, I witnessed firsthand additional outreach opportunities and the need for more laborers in this harvest field. I was able to serve in many of the ministries I will be a part of, including youth ministry, evangelism, discipleship, ladies' ministry, Bible studies, public school ministry, homeschool group, Bible club, Sunday school, and kid’s activities. I’m eager to move to Colombia and assist in this flourishing church planting ministry, as we labor to see more souls saved, baptized, discipled, and trained in the faith.
