The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ came to this earth to seek and save the lost. You are one of those souls that He came for. Most people know about Jesus Christ, but many do not know why He came to die on the cross. What does it mean when someone says that Jesus is the “Savior of the world”? In order for us to know we need a Savior, we must first know what we need to be saved from.

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;” 1 Corinthians 15:3

“Our sins” put Jesus Christ on the cross. Because of your sin (breaking God’s laws) you have a debt to pay.

“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:15

Our “wages” are what we have earned. We have sinned and must receive the wages of our sins. The penalty of our sin is an eternity in hell. Truly we have a great need for someone to save us from sin.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

God knew that the only way man could be saved from his sin was if someone who had never sinned, the perfect Lamb of God, became their sacrifice. So Jesus Christ left His glory in heaven, came to earth and lived a sinless life. He gave His life for our sins; then, after three days and three nights, He rose again!

“And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:4

When Jesus Christ rose from the grave, He conquered death and made it possible for us to have eternal life. He paid for all sin that has ever been committed, and He wants to save every man. The only question is, will you come to Him for that salvation?

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:17 &18.

Jesus Christ offers the gift of salvation freely to all men. This gift cannot be earned, and it cannot be bought. It simply must be received by coming to the cross of Christ.

“Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:30, 31

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
